GetRating for restaurants and cafés

Restaurants use GetRating to ask every guest for a review at the moment they pay: a QR code on the table tent, bill folder or receipt opens a star rating, and the guest is offered your Google or TripAdvisor review page. A private feedback form lets guests tell the manager about a problem the same evening.

Best for, and not best for, restaurants, cafés and bars

Best for

  • Sit-down restaurants and cafés where staff bring the bill to the table
  • Groups with several branches, each with its own Google Business Profile
  • Places that want reviews on both Google and TripAdvisor

Not the best fit

  • Delivery-only kitchens whose reviews live on delivery apps; those apps run their own review flows
  • Restaurants that need table booking, POS or loyalty in the same tool; GetRating only handles reviews and feedback

When to ask

When the bill arrives or at the counter after paying.

Ask every customer at the same moment. Google does not allow asking only the customers you expect to be happy, and GetRating offers every customer your public review links.

How to set it up

  1. Create one location per branch and paste the branch's Google review link (and TripAdvisor, if you use it).
  2. Pick a review mode. A/B mode splits guests between Google and TripAdvisor by percentage; Links mode shows both.
  3. Download the QR code and print it on table tents, the bill folder or the receipt footer.
  4. Ask staff to mention it when they bring the bill, for every table, not only the happy ones.
  5. Read private feedback in the dashboard or in the email alert and follow up while the visit is fresh.

Which plan: One restaurant can start on the Free plan (1 location, 15 reviews a month). A group with several branches needs Growth for unlimited locations. See pricing for current prices.

Keep in mind: Each branch needs its own location in GetRating so reviews land on the right Google profile.

What to measure

We do not publish customer results for restaurants, cafés and bars yet, so this page makes no promises about rating changes. The dashboard shows the numbers to judge it yourself:

  • QR scans and ratings per branch, by week
  • How many guests opened each review site from the GetRating page
  • Private feedback themes, for example slow service or a specific dish

Review request templates for this use case

  • Restaurant Post-Dining Email (email): Tailored for restaurants — references the dining experience and invites a review.
  • Restaurant SMS After Dinner (sms): Quick SMS for restaurants to send after a meal. Warm and short.
  • WhatsApp for Restaurants (whatsapp): Casual WhatsApp message for restaurant guests. Works well sent same evening.
  • Restaurant Table Script (in-person): What servers can say at the end of a meal. Friendly and casual.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send restaurant guests to TripAdvisor instead of Google?

Yes. Add your TripAdvisor review link to the location. You can send everyone to one site, show both in Links mode, or split guests between them with A/B mode.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. The QR code opens a web page in the phone's browser. There is no app and no account for the guest.
