QR Codes & Review Links

Every GetRating location comes with a unique QR code and a short review link. This guide covers how to create, customize, and share them across different channels.

How QR codes and review links work

When a customer scans your QR code or taps your review link, they see a simple star-rating screen. Based on their rating, they're either sent to your Google review page (happy customers) or shown a private feedback form (unhappy customers). Both the QR code and the link lead to the same flow.

Creating your QR code

Your QR code is generated automatically when you add a location. Go to your location's settings page to download it as a PNG image. The QR code is high-resolution and print-ready.

You can download the QR code in different sizes depending on your use case — small for business cards, medium for table tents, large for posters.

Using your review link

Each location also gets a short review link (e.g. revw.link/abc123) that you can copy from the dashboard. This link is perfect for digital channels where QR codes don't work well.

Share it in follow-up SMS messages after an appointment, paste it into email signatures, or send it via WhatsApp. The link works on any device — no app install needed.

Sharing via SMS

SMS has the highest open rates of any channel. After a customer visit, send a short message like: "Thanks for visiting! We'd love your feedback: [link]". Keep it brief and personal.

If you use an appointment or POS system that sends automated texts, you can include your review link in those messages too.

Sharing via email

Add your review link to post-purchase emails, appointment confirmations, or thank-you messages. You can also add it to your email signature so every email you send becomes a review opportunity.

Sharing via WhatsApp

For businesses that communicate with customers on WhatsApp, simply paste the review link into a message. It works just like any other link — customers tap it and go straight to the review flow.

Best places to display QR codes

The best placement is wherever customers are happiest. Common spots include: checkout counters, table tents in restaurants, receipts, business cards, product packaging, and near the exit of service businesses.

Avoid placing QR codes where people are waiting or frustrated (e.g. a long queue). You want to catch customers at peak satisfaction.

Pro Tips

Use both channels

QR codes work best for in-person interactions. Review links work best for digital follow-ups. Use both for maximum coverage.

Add a call-to-action

Don't just print a QR code — add text like "How was your experience? Scan to let us know" to give customers context.
