Review Routing
Review routing is the core of GetRating. It ensures happy customers leave public reviews on Google while unhappy customers give you private feedback instead. Here's how it works.
How routing works
When a customer scans your QR code or taps your review link, they see a simple star-rating screen. They tap their rating (1–5 stars) and are immediately routed based on that choice.
Happy ratings (4–5 stars by default) take the customer directly to your Google review page, pre-filled and ready to submit. Unhappy ratings (1–3 stars by default) show a private feedback form that only you can see.
Setting the threshold
The default threshold is 4 stars — meaning 4 and 5 go to Google, 1–3 stay private. You can adjust this per location. Some businesses set it to 5 stars only, sending 1–4 to the private form. Choose what works for your comfort level.
The private feedback form
Customers who rate below the threshold see a simple form where they can describe what went wrong. They can optionally leave their name and contact info so you can follow up.
This feedback is visible only to you and your team in the dashboard. It never appears on Google or any public platform.
Why this matters
Most unhappy customers don't want to leave a public review — they want to be heard. By giving them a private channel, you resolve issues before they escalate. Meanwhile, your happy customers (who would normally stay silent) now have a 5-second path to leave a 5-star Google review.
The result: your Google rating starts reflecting how good your business actually is.
Responding to private feedback
When negative feedback comes in, you'll see it in your dashboard. If the customer left contact info, reach out quickly — a fast response often turns a complaint into a loyal customer.
Even without contact info, the feedback helps you spot patterns and fix recurring issues.
Pro Tips
Don't set the threshold too high
Setting the threshold to 5 means only perfect scores go to Google. A threshold of 4 captures genuinely happy customers and still filters out dissatisfied ones.
Respond to feedback quickly
The faster you respond to negative feedback, the more likely the customer is to give you a second chance — and possibly update their opinion.
