GetRating and Webhooks
Send GetRating events to your own HTTPS endpoint as JSON POST requests.

Who it is for
Developers and agencies connecting GetRating to a CRM, helpdesk or internal tool.
What it does
- POST the event data as a JSON body; the event name is in the X-Webhook-Event header.
- Sign each request with HMAC-SHA256 (X-Webhook-Signature) when you set a secret.
- Log each delivery so you can inspect payloads and errors in the dashboard.
When it runs
- feedback_resolved: sent when you reply by email or SMS to a feedback item that is already marked resolved. Marking an item resolved without sending a reply does not send it.
- weekly_summary: sent with the weekly summary email.
- new_feedback and low_rating: can be selected in the dashboard, but GetRating does not send deliveries for them yet. Use email alerts or the Zapier polling trigger for new feedback.
How to set it up
- Open Dashboard → Integrations → Webhooks and add your endpoint URL.
- Pick the events and, optionally, set a secret for signatures.
- Send a test event and check the delivery log.
- Verify X-Webhook-Signature on your server before trusting a request.
Example
An agency sends weekly_summary events to its reporting sheet, so each client's weekly ratings and private feedback count arrive without logging in.
Limitations
- Requests time out after 10 seconds and failed deliveries are retried up to 3 times.
- Delivery logs are kept for 30 days.
- new_feedback and low_rating are not delivered yet (see above).
Troubleshooting
- Signature does not match: compute the HMAC over the raw request body, before parsing the JSON.
- Deliveries time out: respond with a 2xx status within 10 seconds and do slow work afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Are GetRating webhooks signed?
Yes, when you set a secret. The X-Webhook-Signature header holds sha256= and the hex HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body.
Which webhook events are sent today?
weekly_summary, and feedback_resolved when you reply to a feedback item that is already resolved. new_feedback and low_rating can be selected but are not delivered yet.
