Switching from Reputation to GetRating

Moving from Reputation to GetRating means changing the review link and QR code your customers see. Reviews already on Google and other sites stay there. GetRating does not import reviews, contacts or message history from Reputation, so plan to start collecting fresh in GetRating while Reputation runs out.

Should you switch from Reputation?

Stay with Reputation if

  • You need enterprise analytics across hundreds of locations
  • You want listings, social and surveys from the same vendor
  • You need a vendor-led rollout

Switch to GetRating if

  • You are a local business or small chain
  • You want to be live the same day without a sales process
  • You want published monthly prices

You give up: Listings management, Social media tools, Survey programs, Enterprise analytics. GetRating does not offer these.

What stays where it is

  • Every review already on Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor or another site. Reviews belong to those sites, so they stay where they are.
  • Your Google Business Profile and other review profiles. GetRating sends customers to them using their public review links.

What does not move from Reputation

  • Reviews and review replies stored inside the old tool. GetRating does not import reviews from other tools or sites.
  • Customer contact lists and message history. GetRating has no contact import; follow-ups only reach customers who leave their details on the GetRating rating page.
  • Website widgets from the old tool. Replace them with the GetRating widget or remove them.

The switch, step by step

  1. Set up GetRating (one sitting per location). Create a free account, add each location, paste its review links and pick a review mode. Each location gets its own QR code and short link straight away.
  2. Swap the links customers use. Replace Reputation's review link in your emails, SMS templates, website and booking confirmations with the GetRating short link. Digital links can change the same day.
  3. Replace printed codes. Print the GetRating QR code on table tents, receipts, invoices and counter signs. This usually takes as long as your next reprint, so it is the slowest step.
  4. Run both, then cancel Reputation. Keep Reputation until nothing printed or digital points to it, then cancel under Reputation's own contract terms. Check its notice period before you start.

How long it takes depends mostly on printed material. We have not measured a median switch time across customers, so this page does not quote one.
